Rapper Yaa Pono has been sued by an Event organizer for not turning up for a show at Asamankese during the Easter festivities.
Speaking with Sammy Baah Flex on Pluzz FM Wednesday, Edward Owusu a representative of Peace Tour Entertainment, organizers of the show said Yaa Pono and his management declined to accord the event organizers the needed respect when they failed to perform at the agreed time due to some inconveniences and sped off to Kwahu to perform on EIB’s platform.
According to him, all effort to contact Yaa Pono’s management proved futile. He further noted that the initial agreement was that he (Yaa Pono) would be a special guest for their Talent Hunt Competition but it was later reviewed that the show should be changed to a Jam with Yaa Pono performing throughout that night till the next morning (1am).
He said Yaa Pono’s failed performance at the event caused a huge damage to them since he was the guest artist billed to perform that day.
The organizers petitioned the court for Yaa Pono’s management to pay GH¢20,000.00 as damage cost.
Relating to this, the Road Manager for the UpTown Energy Star revealed that Peace Tour Entertainment didn’t comply with the new agreement they issued concerning the change of show and time.
He also noted that his team is ready to pay off the initial amount of GH¢2,000.00 to the organizers.
Meanwhile Yaa Pono and his management have been arraigned to appear at Koforidua High Court on April 25, 2016.
